SIMPLIFY YOUR SUMMER

Portage La Prairie - Herman Prior Centre
July 11th, 12th, & 13th, 2008

Brochure & Registration Form

Smalltown Scrappers is accepting registrations for our SIMPLIFY YOUR SUMMMER scrapbooking event, taking place in Portage La Prairie on July 11th, 12th and 13th.

Aside from our usual great sales, demos and make and takes, auctions and FUN, we would like to draw your attention to a few special events we will be running for a couple of friends and we would like you to know well in advance of a very very special guest who has agreed to help us with this event.

Much of our proceeds will be going to a scrapbooker you may know by the name of Maureen Guretzki, from Caronport Saskatchewan.
In 1992 Maureen was diagnosed with Still's Disease.
In 2004, she was diagnosed with MS.
In 2007 she was diagnosed with Lyme Disease.
Maureen's health conditions have not shown any improvements over the years and on June 10th, 2008, she has an appointment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, in hopes of determining exactly what is wrong.

In order to help Maureen with expenses for this trip, Smalltown Scrappers would like to run several contests and auctions with proceeds going to Maureen.

She will be offering an Inspirational Speech about starting a business on a crazy idea, about the journey of scrapbooking, about keeping it real.

She will be teaching a 2 hour class for 20 people. The class is a Melissa Frances class involving painting, glitter, ribbon, buttons, etc. It is a home decor "Family" Mantle piece. Jackie will be bringing TONS OF GIVEAWAYS.

Jackie will also be sponsoring a Contest at Smalltown Scrappers with the winner being announced at The Simplify Your Summer Getaway.

Enter as many times as you like for 2.00 per entry with all proceeds going to a charity called "Scrapping with Cancer".

All the money goes to a little boy named Brody whose family puts together scrapbooking kits for kids with Cancer. Visit www.scrappingwithcancer.ca.

Jackie will publish the winning layout/ project or card. You need not be enrolled in our getaway....you can enter any time in our store up until the Summer Getaway in Portage La Prairie where Jackie will pick a winner before she leaves on July 12th. The projects you enter over the months leading up to the contest will be displayed at our Summer Getaway to inspire our attendees both artistically and to help fight a worthy cause.

Jackie will take photos of the entire event publishing one or more in the winter issue of CS.

This event will be advertised on the Canadian Scrapbooker Website.
